A good meal-prep bowl needs contrast: warm and cool ingredients, soft and crunchy textures, and a sauce strong enough to connect everything. One base can become several distinct meals.
Prepare one flexible foundation
Roast tofu or tempeh with smoked paprika, cook quinoa, and bake a tray of broccoli, peppers, and red onion. Prepare edamame and shred fresh cabbage for crunch.
This foundation provides protein from soy, quinoa, and edamame while leaving room for different sauces and toppings.
Change the flavour each day
Use a lemon-tahini sauce, a ginger-soy dressing, a smoky tomato salsa, or a herby yoghurt-style dressing. Add seeds, herbs, pickled onions, or avocado immediately before serving.
Store wet and crunchy ingredients separately. The components will keep their texture and make each bowl feel freshly assembled.
Put it into practice
- Divide the tofu, quinoa, and edamame evenly between bowls.
- Pack sauces in separate leak-proof containers.
- Freeze any portion you will not eat within three days.
Start with one change, track how it feels for two weeks, and adjust from evidence rather than perfection. Sustainable progress is built through repeatable choices.
